PAST TENSE CLOZE PASSAGE ACTIVITY HERE

MODEL ANSWERS: Completed Cloze Passage: A Day at the Market

Last Saturday, my cousin and I decided to visit the Coronation Market in Kingston. We woke up early and left the house just after 6 a.m. The streets still looked quiet as we walked to the bus stop. When the bus finally arrived, we boarded quickly and found seats near the window.

As we entered the market, we saw vendors setting up their stalls. The air was filled with the smell of ripe fruit, freshly baked bread, and spices. We bought some mangoes, sweet peppers, and ground provisions. One vendor even gave us a discount because we helped him arrange his produce.

While we were shopping, a sudden downpour began. Everyone rushed to take shelter. We laughed as we squeezed under a small tarpaulin tent with three other shoppers. The rain only lasted a few minutes, but it made the market even livelier.

After we finished our shopping, we stopped by a food stall and ate some freshly fried fish and bammy. It tasted delicious! Tired but satisfied, we headed home with heavy bags and happy hearts.
