A Report on the Production of Four Crops in Santo Aripo: 1997-2000.

A survey was conducted on the production of sugar, banana, rice and peas in Santo Aripo between 1997-2000 and projections were made for the year 2020. The following results have been obtained:

Sugar

The highest total recorded was 250 in 2000 while the lowest was 100 in 1997. Sugar production was seen to steadily increase by 50 each year. Sugar also registered the highest total production of the four crops over the period -700. In the year 2020, it is anticipated that sugar will be 500, doubling the 250 of 2000.

Banana

Conversely, 1997 was the best year for bananas, when the highest totalled production figure was 200, while the lowest was 50 in 2000, the worst year. Production was seen to steadily decline by 50 each year. Despite this, banana still recorded the second highest total of 500 of the fur crops. In the year 2020, it is expected that banana will remain at the 2000 figure of 50 but it will be demoted to the third highest crop produced.

Rice

The current third highest produced crop, rice, reflects much lower statistics than the other two previously mentioned. The highest total recorded for rice was 20 in 1998 while the lowest was 11 in 1997. Rice production fluctuated over the four years increasing to the third highest total of 63 but an astronomical increase of nearly twice the amount of its whole total (100) is projected for 2020, which will elevate it to the second highest crop produced.

Peas

The final crop, peas, was always the least produced crop and it remained more or less constant 10 (only very marginal increases or decreases were recorded). It is expected to remain unchanged at 10 in 2020.

Totals

Overall, the figure of 1304.2 tonnes of produce was recorded over the survey period. Ranking in descending order- sugar (700), banana (500), rice (63) and peas (40.2). There was no significant change in the total production for each year (which fluctuated marginally between 321.0 and 321.1). However, it is expected that in 2020, total production will double to 660.1.

Enclosed with this analysis is a table for your consideration.
